Two Events Left....

Timbered Woods 3D has two events left. The chase for champion is close in many classes as the season is winding down. The MBO class is the tightest race as Brian Luallen and Brian Rusher are two points apart. Pressure should mount at each event as these two go head to head for the title.

HC shows more gap as Mike Rusher is leading with 497 points and Darren Hupp is in second place with 480 points.

FHC is also a tighter race with Melissa Jones leading with 497 points to second place Nicole Jones. Nicole has 489 points.

The CUB class has Coltin Simkins walking away from everyone with 499 points. Second place is at 197 points. At this point Coltin will be the CUB Champion as no one can catch him with two events left.

Timbered Woods 3D would like to again thank everyone for their support of our range. We believe we have learned alot from everyone. Our course will continue to grow and once word spreads of our points chases, Im sure the competition will only get tougher.

1st Leg of National Championship Triple Crown Coming

Timbered Woods 3D will have a practice course set up to allow shooters to warmup as well as tune equipment. Cost to shoot the course will be $10.00. The course will be open all three days of the IBO event. Flyers will be available at the Triple Crown with details.

Event #2 A Week Away

Event # 2 is a week away. We have talked to several archers that shot our 1st event and are making some positive changes. The range will be fully open this month. If we would have gotten one more inch of rain last month, I was going to purchase plans to build an ark on eBay. Jeesh.

We look forward to seeing everyone again this month and I would like to invite anyone who hasn't shot with us to come out and enjoy our course.

Event Scores being Posted Today

We would like to apologise for the wait on everyone's scores being posted. I had to finish up some of the programming and testing this week. It is now done and throughout today our first event's scores will be available.

We had an outstanding event despite the weather. With around 120 registered shooters, it looks like we will grow quickly. This next month's event will be setup somewhat easier and hopefully the high water will be gone and we can use a better layout.

Lastly, we will be running monthly sales in our pro shop on the weekend of each event. Each month will be different and we will have information out as soon as possible.

1st Shoot This Month

The time is almost here. March 29th and 30th are only a few weeks away and Timbered Woods 3D will be open for business. The course is well on its way to completion. Here are some course details for those that care to read.

The course is approximately 1 mile in length.
Walking the course will be fairly easy with only 2 substantial hills to contend with.
There will be 2 platform shots.
Depending on the weather, mud may be an issue. It is April.
We are trying to take care to provide plenty of directional signage.

We are looking forward to a great year and we hope you enjoy our course. On a side note, We would like to apologise to anyone stopping by Hunters Supply that did not get taken care of properly. We are working hard to keep customers happy while we prepare for this years events.

Timbered Woods 3D Becomes Reality

After 2 years of thought and several requests for us to consider opening a 3D course, Hunters Supply along with Josh Roberts has opened Timbered Woods 3D, LLC.

The thirty target course will be located at Hunters Supply and will be exclusively Rinehart targets. Many courses were looked at and we took what we thought each course did best and designed Timbered Woods 3D to be the best.

Hunters Supply is a fully stocked pro shop that will be open during couse hours to all shooters. Concessions will also be available.

We decided to go one step further and offer a points chase for 4 classes. Many prizes will be given away in conjunction with the points chase. For more details click here.

Firearms Season Rule Change

There is a proposed change in the administrative rule (law) to allow the use of rifles with pistol cartridges in the deer firearms season, but it has not yet become law.

The rule proposal is as follows:
rifle cartridge must:
(A) fire a bullet of three hundred fifty-seven thousandths of an inch (.357) diameter or larger;
(B) have a minimum case length of one and sixteen hundredths (1.16) inches; and
(C) have a maximum case length of one and six hundred twenty-five thousandths (1.625) inches.

Some cartridges that would be legal would be the .357 mag, .41 special, .44 mag, .44 special and .44-.40 winchester.

The public hearing is being re-scheduled for late March due to the snowstorm.

Preparing for Deer Season

On Sunday morning just before the sun rises, Brandon Prince plans to be ready to draw his bow. Prince will be among many locals who will trek to the woods for the first day of archery season for deer.

For Prince, this season began earlier than usual. “I got a new bow this year and had to do some sighting in,” Prince said. “The first thing I had to do was pick out sights, rests and what else I wanted on my bow.” After that came practice, which Prince had trouble finding time for since he recently opened Hunter’s Supply on Ind. 458. He also set up a tree stand to prepare for the season.
